Technical and regulatory support for the valorization of frass.
- Client: Neofly
- Period: July–November 2024.
- Location: New Caledonia
- Partner: BKN
NODA Pacifique supported the start-up Neofly in carrying out a comprehensive study to structure and secure the valorization of frass as an organic fertilizer.
The assignment included the planning of frass analyses for the 2024–2027 period, taking into account analytical parameters, the nature of incoming organic waste streams, and storage conditions. NODA Pacifique also carried out a preparatory study for future agronomic trials, including the development of trial protocols and the identification of the actions required prior to their implementation.
A comprehensive regulatory review of frass valorization was also carried out, resulting in the drafting of a proposed annex to the article on the management of treated materials in the future ICPE regulation.
The assignment included the development of a communication strategy, complemented by support from the specialist consultancy BKN, as well as the preparation of dedicated communication materials. NODA Pacifique also ensured project reporting, prepared and co-facilitated the final presentation meeting with SPC and the technical partners. This work was funded by the European Union under the PROTEGE programme.
