Exploratory analysis of opportunities for processing local products for the domestic market.

NODA Pacifique carried out an exploratory study for a private client in the context of strengthening local agricultural value chains and reducing dependence on imports. The objective was to assess the feasibility of processing locally produced fruits and vegetables while meeting the needs of the New Caledonian market. As the first stage of a broader project, the study resulted in recommendations on which local products should be processed, based on producers' needs, import substitution opportunities and the specific requirements of institutional catering. The analysis was structured around these three areas, with a strong focus on economic viability while taking into account the constraints identified by stakeholders.
